6-3-22   THOUGHTS

May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ. I pray this for each of us.

2Thes 2:13-17  But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14  It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15  So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us. 16  Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, 17  comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
2Thes 3:1- 18    Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; 2  and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. 3  But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 4  We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we command. 5
May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ. 6   Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us. [skipping to verse 13]   13  But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. 14  If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame. 15  Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 16   Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!   17  I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand, and this is a distinguishing mark in every letter; this is the way I write. 18  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

My Prayer:
O Father, comfort and strengthen our hearts in every good work and word.  Rearrange our thinking that there would be less of self and more of you, O God.  Help us develop habits and rhythms in our lives that draw us into the sphere of your love, We would have your mind, Father God.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Please strengthen and protect us from the evil one. Keep us from diluting our minds with the information of this world.  Teach us to focus, and concentrate, and behave so that we can be singular in mind, heart and soul.  Comfort and strengthen our hearts in every good work and word.
In the name of our blessed Savior,       Amen.
